Ebenezer Girls Skill Center
The most recent project of West African Christian Ministries is the Ebenezer Girls Skill Center. The countries of Mali and Burkina Faso are considered the most difficult places to be a woman. The literacy rate of the country is only 30%, but it is even lower for females. Because of the extreme poverty of the country and the low status of women, women with no skills and no money are in a very vulnerable position, with frequent violence perpetuated upon them.
The skill center is not yet begun, as we are waiting to have enough funds to cover the first 2/3 of the first year. Plans are for purchasing things such as computers and sewing machines, kitchen utensils, hairdryers, and other things needed to teach marketable skills to the women.
In addition to learning vocational skills, the girls will be learning to read and write, and most importantly, they will be learning about the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Ebenezer Girls Skills Center will be located in the village of Leo, which is just twelve miles from the border with Ghana.

Some of today’s most vibrant and growing churches are located in Africa. West African Christian Ministries was founded to partner with the growing churches of West Africa. First and foremost we want to bring glory to Jesus Christ and the advancement of His kingdom.
Our primary interests are planting churches and developing biblically educated leaders, providing basic education for children, and evangelism.
In view of the poverty in Africa we also want to help Africans develop means for supporting themselves. These goals are being accomplished through the leadership of African Christians who best know their own people and their needs.
West African Christian Ministries is a support ministry which is involved in financial giving, prayer, and going to assist when possible.
The ministry today is located in Bobo-Dioulasso, the second largest city in Burkina Faso. The International Director is Dr. Moussa Coulibaly.

What is a CHILD SPONSOR?
A child sponsor is a person, church, group, business, or organization that contributes $30 a month or more to help provide an education for a child in Burkina Faso, West Africa.
What will be the relationship between you as a sponsor and your child?
You will receive a photo and a history of your child, as well as a packet explaining the sponsorship program. You have the opportunity to develop a personal relationship with your children through writing letters, sending cards and pictures, and giving to our child’s “treat fund” for birthday and holiday gifts and parties. Your child will write to you about three times a year, and you will receive an annual update on your child.
What does your monthly contribution provide?
Only 30% of the people of Burkina Faso, Africa, are able to read. Your contribution enables a child to go to school, to learn to read and write, and to learn about Jesus Christ.
